Mount Adams – February 5, 2012

This terrific hike was my most challenging winter hike to date! The 9.4 mile out-and-back hike started from Lowe’s Store on Rte 2 where the temperature was 1 degree F. We hiked to the top via Lowe’s Path where the temperature was below zero and the winds blew from 40-50 mph. What a thrilling experience. We hiked with crampons from Gray Knob cabin to the top due to very icy trails. The total hike took about 8.5 hours.
